In this blog, I will explore and critically analyze black masculinities in popular culture in general, and comedy in particular. I will look at comedians like Dave Chappelle, Kevin Hart, and Kat Williams, and analyze and discuss their performance of black masculinity and connect it to scholarly theories to attempt to deconstruct how their comedy which is taken lightly by many, reshapes, redefines, and sometimes reinforces ideal of black masculinities.
