Candy grew up in Saltburn-by-the-Sea and Stratford-upon-Avon. She began writing The Magic Rainbow Stone in 1999, after buying a fluorite dolphin figurine which gave her the idea for her crystal characters. It was finally finished and published a whole fifteen years later in 2014. The next two books in the series swiftly followed. Her latest offering is Stars and Hearts - the first book in the lighthearted Stage Door series for young adults. Candy is also an animal lover, coffee addict, crystal collector, and sole carer for her dementia-stricken mum.
