Noel Morales, M.Ed. Founder and CEO Connect the Dots Learning was established because of his desire to ensure that all children reach their maximum potential and unleash the academic power they have within. Noel Morales is the 2012 Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Assistant Principal of the year award recipient in Region XVI. Noel has had seventeen years of experience in the field of education. Giving back to the community has been a driving force throughout his career. As a general education teacher, he served students who were English Language Learners and at-risk for school failure; as a Resource Specialist Teacher, he serviced students with mild/moderate disabilities; as a Program Specialist, he guided change at the secondary school sites through direct support and professional development; as an adult school educator and Teacher Adviser, he serviced adults so that they could participate and become active members of our society; and as an Assistant Principal he has worked, collaborated with and supported all stakeholders to ensure the best interests of all students. Noel Morales’ Personal Story When he was a child he struggled with stuttering. Going to school was an agonizing time for him. All he could think of was, “I hope the teacher does not call on me to read.” He would act sick or simply act out so that he could either be excused to go to the nurse’s office, be sent to another teacher’s classroom or to the Principal's office as punishment. What he was trying to do was get away from an environment that caused him a great deal of stress. Over the years, he learned that he could overcome his difficulties, by beginning to employ meta-cognitive strategies. Simply put: he learned how he learned best. He developed strategies that he still uses to this day when he feels an onset of a stuttering episode. Once he developed the strategies to help him reduce his stuttering, he felt more confident.
