Jenny Dunning

Writer-teacher. Teacher-writer. I have a number of publications--short stories, essays, academic articles, journalism, and a few awards and notable mentions. Plus, like a lot of folks, I'm realizing, an unpublished novel, initially promising and represented by an agent, and now languishing between the once final draft and the unwritten next one. Meanwhile, teaching college writing is my bread and butter (well, at least my bread) and where I put most of my energy. The best thing to come out of writing my novel is a better understanding of what I read, of what holds my interest and what pulls me forward. And the writing projects I most enjoy doing these days are the emails I write to friends about books I've just finished, or the little reviews I post on Goodreads, few of which anyone else reads. So I've decided to start this book review blog. And I hope others will join me by sending (via email) casual reviews in a similar vein as these which I will post on the blog.
